Not gonna be okay with this massive retcon if there turns out to be truth to it.
I just don’t care for Vastra, Jenny, or Strax, and can’t entirely articulate why. Part of the reason, though, is almost certainly that they rely too much on “Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot” instead of actual characterization and that we haven’t been shown why these one-off characters from an episode a season and a half prior should be of any sort of lasting importance to the Doctor. We basically have three more Mary Sues in addition to River Song now, although thankfully not quite to the same degree.

ALRIGHT. Now THIS is what I’ve been waiting to hear before I felt comfortable promoting the SMGO effort. I was glad earlier today when SMGO addressed the money path ambiguity, but still concerned about having sanction from the IP owners (in our case, Warner Brothers).
Okay Fanterns, the reins are off. Full speed ahead on this effort.
